Several months back I had the pleasure of photographing professional longboarder Kassia Meador for Gravis Footwear. The images centered around her artwork, which is pretty unreal I might add, and were to be used in a promotional video they were putting together. Well, the video’s done and on the Gravis Footwear site, but you can check it out here, too. Kassia also has a great blog that details her travels, events, and exotic surf locations.
Special thanks to Pete Santa Maria for the phenomenal work on the video.
Here are some images from yesterday’s bridal fashion shoot. Dan Boswell and his assistant, Wes, were on hand to film the whole thing for use in my promotional video. Special thanks to our model, Murielle, for her patience, flexibility and hard work (and for letting us shoot at her dad’s gorgeous house). Murielle is an actress and you can see her in Anna in the Tropics at the Frida Kahlo Theatre.
Stay tuned for the video soon!

I got an e-mail a few weeks back from Vanessa, the sister of my old roommate, about shooting some portraits of her family while they were vacationing in San Diego. It was a pretty dreary day, so I wanted to take them somewhere where there would be elements that would add some texture to the sky, and where I could light it to provide them with a look that was unique and wasn’t the prototypical “San Diego portrait”. I took them to one of my favorite spots, where the allowed us to get some really dramatic images.

I’m back in the blogging saddle with a few gems. A few weeks back I photographed some headshots for aspiring actor/model, Nikko (maybe someday he’ll win a “slashie”). Nikko is a little over a year old and a total ham. He loves the camera and, as witnessed during our shoot on the beach, loves to eat sand, too. The shot on the left is so great (look at those teeth!), but my fave is the in-between-expression on the right. Looks like he’s ready for a smackdown!
