SubscribeBetween dodging rain showers, we managed to fit in a great bridal portrait shoot with Paige! Paige hails from Austin, TX, and wanted to incorporate a cowboy hat and boots to give it a little Texas feel! The first portion of the shoot was done at the Olivenhain Meeting Hall, which has a great rustic feel. The second leg of the shoot was done in the eastern portion of the San Elijo Lagoon.
Here are some images from yesterday’s bridal fashion shoot. Dan Boswell and his assistant, Wes, were on hand to film the whole thing for use in my promotional video. Special thanks to our model, Murielle, for her patience, flexibility and hard work (and for letting us shoot at her dad’s gorgeous house). Murielle is an actress and you can see her in Anna in the Tropics at the Frida Kahlo Theatre.

This is the beautiful Erin. She booked me over a year ago for her upcoming wedding in June (I’m jealous of her proactiveness). She had booked both a bridal shoot and an engagement shoot. As we all know, life sometimes gets in the way of fun stuff. So, when it came down to schedule the shoots, Erin, drawing from her greuling days as a U of Michgan water polo player, wanted to tough it out and do both shoots on the same day. Back to back. Keep in mind that after a few hours at one of my engagement shoots, most couples are in desparate need of a cocktail and a nap, and not necessarily in that order.
But Erin was a rockstar, a total natural in front of the camera. The shoot started in downtown La Jolla, and after that we headed up to my new favorite spot by UCSD, broke out the strobe, and created some fun images amongst the trees.
On Monday, I was asked to shoot some bridal fashion for San Diego Style Weddings magazine. Arrived at the Hyatt Aventine bright and early on Monday morning to do some location scouting. After hair and makeup, we started shooting. We shot three different dresses in about 90 minutes, which is really quick.
Kudos to hair stylist Shelisa Burke of A Beautiful Bride, to makeup artist Gale Alexander of Make-Up Artistry by Gale, and to Cher from Chez Bride Moderne for the beautiful wedding gowns. Also special thanks to our lovely model, Ashleigh Erwin, who made my job extremely easy.
