Scottie and Alan’s Wedding at La Costa Resort

You may remember Scottie and Alan from their windy, cold engagement session back in December. Thankfully, the weather gods cooperated for their wedding this past Sunday at La Costa Resort. I’d been looking forward to their wedding ever since our first consultation, not only because La Costa Resort is a five-minute drive from my house, but because Scottie is a fellow USD Torero!

Scottie and Alan have impeccable taste and chose a veritable “Who’s Who” of vendors: Catherine Bachelier-Smith of CBS Weddings did a magnificent job of designing and coordinating their unique wedding; Tam and Clarice from Isari Flower Studio provided gorgeous arrangements and bouquets; and Lori from Paper and Thread provided incredible stationery; and Jeff from Roldan Productions did an amazing job recording the entire event on video.

Salicia and Quinn’s San Diego Wedding at the Karl Strauss Brewery Gardens

Salicia and Quinn were married this past Saturday at the Karl Strauss Brewery Gardens. Cute couple and super-fun guests mixed in with a little beer always makes for a fun party!

Sharon and Lito’s Wedding at the U.S. Grant Hotel | San Diego, CA

Last Saturday we got an early start (8 AM, yikes!) and photographed Sharon and Lito’s wedding. The ceremony was held at the Immaculata at USD and the reception was held at the U.S. Grant Hotel. The Grant holds is a special place for me, as it’s where my wife and I were married back in 2001.

Aside from the great wedding, there were some tremendous highlights to the afternoon. First, since Lito hails from Hawai’i, guests were treated to a traditional Polynesian dance routine. Lito, Sharon and several guests even joined in on the fun. Finally, it was Comic-Con week in San Diego, and downtown was crawling with people in costume. It was so great to shoot Lito and Sharon amongst the freaks and geeks!

Special thanks to Charmae Salazar of Bellz and Whistlez for coordinating such a wonderful event. And to my crew, Kelly for rocking the photobooth and Lindsey for her fantastic second-shooting.

Tierney and Andy’s Wedding at The Crosby

Loni and Dave’s Wedding

Loni and Dave were married this past Saturday at the Torrey Pines Christian Church, with the reception held at the Sheraton Harbor Island. You may remember Loni and Dave from their engagement session back in May. It was so great to be a part of their wedding-planning process over the last several months and such a treat to see it finally come to fruition.

Special thanks Andrea Reznichek of A Diamond Celebration, who did an awesome job with coordinating the wedding. Kudos to my associate, Lindsey Byrnes, and to Kelly Kramer, who ran the kick-ass photobooth!

Melissa and Brendan’s Engagement Shoot | Part I

On Sunday afternoon I jaunted down to Balboa Park to meet Melissa and Brendan for a quick Save the Date shoot. I usually take care of any Save the Date needs when I shoot an engagement session, but due to scheduling conflicts, we needed to shoot the Save the Date ASAP and move the main engagement session to next week.

From the moment we met at the carousel at Balboa Park, I knew working with Melissa and Brendan would be awesome. Melissa was dressed in a killer black dress while Brendan was dressed in a really sharp black suit. I had no idea they’d be so dolled up for their shoot, but if it’s a sign of things to come, the next engagement shoot should be awesome!

Kate and Ross’s Wedding at the Scripps Seaside Forum

Kate and Ross’s wedding was held this past Saturday at the Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla. Kate and Ross were referred to me by super-coordinator Melissa Barrad of I Do… Weddings! Melissa did a fantastic job working with Kate and Ross to bring their vision to reality.

Kate and Ross are so cool, easy going, and such a pleasure to be around. From the time we did their engagement session, I knew this wedding would be great! Two great families came together for one fantastic party, with The Heroes rocking the house!

Paige | Bridal Portraits

Between dodging rain showers, we managed to fit in a great bridal portrait shoot with Paige! Paige hails from Austin, TX, and wanted to incorporate a cowboy hat and boots to give it a little Texas feel! The first portion of the shoot was done at the Olivenhain Meeting Hall, which has a great rustic feel. The second leg of the shoot was done in the eastern portion of the San Elijo Lagoon.
